Shares started when the organizers of Rise and Shine’s annual fund raiser agreed to let a team of folks move the event to a zero-waste event.

That involved finding 125 place settings for a sit down dinner. So many people came together and made that possible.

After the word got out, other events started asking to use the library of place settings. Soon the demand was significant and it became obvious a sharing club would help make the stuff more available to the community.

So Transylvania Shares was born.

We consist of a board of directors and a storage building in Brevard, NC.

Our goal is to promote reuse and community.
